The QFA in Detail...

Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) is the new qualification/designation which all students completing the Professional Diploma in Financial Advice will automatically receive.

The two main requirements necessary to maintain the QFA are that:

  1. All QFAs undertake to participate in a Continuous Professional Development programme, to ensure that they keep abreast of all the latest developments in their industry.  The  CPD programme is now fully up and running.

  2. All QFAs will be members of The Institute of Bankers in Ireland and/or LIA and The Insurance Institute of Ireland.

Any QFA who fails to comply with either one or both of the above requirements will ultimately lose the right to use the QFA designation.

Over the coming months and years, the new qualification will be widely publicised both inside and outside the insurance industry.  This will help ensure that the general public is aware that the qualification exists and that the QFA brings added value to the advice given by their financial adviser.
